Thread: Support Request - Guidelines

Most problems can be solved by following the steps below:

1 - Disable All Mods/Addons

Mods can interfere with the inner workings of VBulletin. All are coded differently. Some are made to blend well in any style or skin, while others aren't so robust and display incorrectly. It is virtually impossible to design a skin that will work with all addons. As such, we cannot provide support for any third party software you may have installed on your boards.

2 - Use the Search Function

Some support requests are redundant, and have already been solved. Using the search function, you may find threads in which your problem has already been solved.

3 - Submit a Support Request

A large portion of support requests made in these forums remain unsolved until the customer provides sufficient information. The more information you provide, the more likely we can help with your problem in a timely fashion.

When submitting support requests, you must provide as much information as possible, including:

• The version of your VBulletin installation.
• The version of your skin.
• A thorough description of the problem.
  
  • When did the problem start?
  • What have you tried so far?
  • Have you tried disabling ALL addons?
  • Are you having this problem with the default VBulletin skin?
  • Are all usergroups affected by this problem?
  • Does the demo skin at PureVB Demos - The Front Page have the same issue?
• Screenshots of the problem.
• A link to your forum.
• If required, a "technician" login account to your forums with appropriate access.

We cannot guarantee support for skin modifications. If you're trying to move things around, add features or graphics, your problem may fall under the paid request category. As a general rule of thumb, if you're trying to modify a working demo skin, this is more of a skin modification than a support request. Nonetheless, we often provide support for customers wanting to modify their skin.
